Newcastle vs Man United

Manchester United face a trip to Newcastle in Saturday’s late kick-off as they look to bounce back from their defeat vs Tottenham.

The Red Devils have had a pretty poor start to the campaign, that has seen them pick up just one win in three league outings.

Man United began their 2020/21 Premier League season was a rather embarrassing loss at the hands of Crystal Palace.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side would then bounce back with a victory over Brighton, but even in that tie United looked rather unconvincing.

Then, just before the latest international break, the Manchester outfit were handed a 6-1 thrashing by Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham.

As a result, Newcastle, who have had an average start to the season – winning two, drawing one and losing one – probably fancy their chances this evening.

Solskjaer on Man United’s rough start

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would hold his pre-Newcastle press conference on Friday.

During the presser, the Norwegian was drawn on United’s poor start to the campaign and the reaction of the squad.

The Man United boss then went on to aim a subtle dig at the press stating that given any little chance ‘you’ [the press] want to create a division.

Solskjaer then went to state that Man United want to stick together and work hard together:

“Well, we’ve been in touch with the ones who have been away as well of course. It is one of those things that you have to get over as soon as you can and move on. We know any little chance from outside, you want to create a division.

“I think Bruno spoke really well the other day about we are United, we have to stay together. We can’t listen to everyone outside, we’ve just got to get on with it. Bruno has now lost two league games since he came to the club and he came in February.

“But it’s been two in quick succession. So he’s not used to losing league games for us but now it’s ‘Bruno, welcome to Man United, this is what happens when we lose a couple’ They’re going to try to create a division between us but that’s not going to happen because this group is a group that wants to work hard together and stick together.”
