Manchester United have sent Diogo Dalot to AC Milan on a season-long loan with no option to make the deal permanent included in the deal, and they have no intention to sell the Portuguese next summer, according to ESPN.

Primarily a right-back, Dalot is also capable of playing on the left defensive flank if need be, or further up in midfield. He was brought to Old Trafford by Jose Mourinho from his old club FC Porto in the summer of 2018, but his performances lacked consistency and it’s fair to say that he wasn’t really given enough time to adapt to the Premier League. After only one season, United paid around £50 million to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace and injuries prevented Dalot from putting in a proper fight for his place in the team.

The 21-year-old’s fine form for the Rossoneri this season has prompted calls for the Serie A club to try and work out a deal to make Dalot stay beyond next summer, but as things stand at the moment, that won’t be happening.
